Conversing with David Chadwick

I had a wonderful conversation the other evening with David Chadwick, biographer extraordinaire of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi. It was an opportunity for me to reflect on my time practicing at the San Francisco Zen Center in 1971, and the way Suzuki Roshi's teachings in Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind shaped my Buddhist journey thereafter.
It was also a good reminder that we have different reference points and use different language in the Tibetan Buddhist world from other Buddhist traditions, even though these different fingers all. point to the same moon.
